ACTING President of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Videsh Sookram, says that the country’s CAC Bodybuilding team is well prepared and relaxed.

He credited the tremendous support of the of their partners in ensuring that last minute travel plans were avoided.

“The stress of running around and worrying about getting things together at the last minute and so on for the athletes has been completely erased because of the assistance from GOA, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Fitness Express, so we are set and ready in the best way for the athletes this year, and we are ready to go and dominate and return with gold medals.”

The team is set to leave Guyana’s shores on Thursday, the 27th of August, for the competition in Guatemala.

“We have 9 bodybuilders confirmed so far; we are still pending on 1, but we have 9 confirmed, and all is set and ready to travel and compete and return with hardware.”

The team includes Mr. Guyana, Colin ‘Mr. Clean’ Chesney (heavyweight & Masters); Romelton Siland (men’s physique); Trinity Mahaica (kids’ fitness); Sobantho Martin (kids’ fitness); Lindon Burnett (light heavyweight and masters); Amariah Siland (kids’ fitness); Melitha Anderson (bikini fit model); Roley Chandler (classic physique, open physique, physique junior, and fitness challenge) and Rawle Green (masters and heavyweight bodybuilding).

At the 2025 CAC championship held in St. Lucia, Guyana racked up 12 medals, with gold medals from Burnett, Greene, and Siland.

The team is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports; Zoon Logistics; the Guyana Olympic Association; and Fitness Express.
