THREE Cuban nationals were, on Tuesday, remanded to prison after they were jointly charged with the murder of a fellow Cuban national at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
The accused are Alejandro Igalza Rios, called “Papote”, 26, a barber; Juan Pablo Ferrer Perez, 29, a construction worker; and Mairely Felicita Medinas Alvarez, 24, a labourer. All three reside at Timehri, East Bank Demerara.
They are accused of murdering Yudivian Cardenas Amador Almagro on July 22, 2026, at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
The trio was arrested on July 29 and July 30, 2026, and subsequently charged jointly with murder, contrary to common law.
They appeared on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, before Magistrate D. Bess at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court, where the indictable charge was read to them.
The accused were not required to plead and were remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned until September 21, 2026.
