POLICE have seized more than one kilogramme of suspected cannabis following the discovery of a bulky parcel in a black plastic bag at Rosignol, West Bank Berbice, on Monday.
Ranks attached to Regional Division Five were conducting an exercise at Hosanna Street, Rosignol, when they allegedly found the suspected narcotics.
According to police, the ranks had acted on information received and conducted a search of a premises in the area. As they were leaving, they observed a black plastic bag lying next to a dam approximately 10 feet from the premises.
Upon inspection, the ranks allegedly found a bulky parcel containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The suspected narcotics were taken to the Blairmont Police Station, where they were weighed and found to amount to 1.045 kilogrammes before being lodged. No arrest has been made.
Investigations are continuing.
