A MAN with a history of break-ins has been sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to another offence before the court.
On December 31, 2025, Carlton Patterson appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded guilty to the offence of break and enter and larceny. He was sentenced to 48 months’ imprisonment by Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir.
The particulars of the offence stated that between November 20 and November 22, 2025, at Lot 11 Jones Town, Lima, Essequibo Coast, Patterson broke into the storeroom of Mohammed Ijad Azeem and stole eight buckets of paint valued at $60,000.
The court was also informed that Patterson has two other matters pending. In one, it is alleged that he broke and entered the dwelling house of Devina Khan and stole property valued at $3,291,000. In the other, he is accused of breaking into the home of Farahnaz Mohamed and stealing items valued at $90,000.
Patterson has previously been charged on numerous occasions for similar offences. He is scheduled to make his next court appearance on February 4, 2026.
