GABA U-23 knock-out Championship

STABROEK Eagles and Bounty Colts picked up huge wins when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) continued its U-23 basketball Championship on Saturday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with semi-final action.

Colts grabbed a 118-76-point win over Nets when they clashed at the homestretch avenue facility.

Kimol Grimmond led all scorers with a bombastic 26 points alongside Jaden Simon who dropped 20 in the win by 42 points.

It was Colts that started well, leading the first quarter 28-23.

They then kept their foot on the gas to extend their lead 56-40 at the half time.

They would dominate without let up to lead the third quarter 96-54 before closing out the contest in the fourth 118-76.

Also contributing to the win for Colts was skipper Domitre Rankin, Carmelo Man-Son-Hing and Paul France with 18, 11 and 16 points respectively.

Net’s Peter Langavine led his side with 18 in a losing effort with 13 from Chris Perez.

Stabroek Eagles also defeated Worthmanville Pacesetters 76-62 to advance to the finals.

It was another one-sided affair as Eagles led in all four quarters 18-15, 43-27, 67-46 and 76-62 in their contest.

Kadeem Beckles was Eagles top offensive player as he scored 19 points with Alaffin Jospeh playing well for his 10 points.

Pacesetters Benkham King showed fight as he finished with 17 points in the loss.
