GUYANA grabbed a second bronze medal at the 2nd annual Junior Pan American Games.
The mixed 4×400 relay team added to swimmer Raekwon Noel bronze by adding one of their own on Monday in Paraguay.
Guyana’s mixed relay team consisting of two females and two males had to battle with a strong field to clinch third place.
The team was made up of Malachi Austin, Keliza Smith, Semion Adams and Narissa McPherson.

Malachi Austin ran a powerful first leg putting Guyana in pole position but when he passed the baton to Narissa McPherson she lost ground falling into a distant fourth place.
McPherson then handed over to Simeon Adams who picked up the pace to and went ahead to be in third place next to Brazil in the lead and Cuba in second place.
After Adams handed over to anchor Keliza Smith, Guyana looked like they would be on course for a gold medal as the sprinter dominated the first two hundred metres to lead the Brazilian, Jamaican and Cuban before fading after the 200 mark but managing to hold onto third place.

They would finish the race in 3 minutes 22.30 second for the last medal on the podium with Brazil first in 3 minutes 19.98 seconds and Cuba second place in 3 minutes 21.01 seconds.
Fourth place went to Jamaica.
