-PPP remains only party with clear strategic plan for every community, region
-President Ali says, urges Guyanese to preserve dignity and shun those attempting to ‘buy’ votes
OUTLINING a future built on a forward-looking strategy, visionary leadership and unity, President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Sunday reminded a mammoth gathering of supporters that the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) remains the engine of development and prosperity for all Guyanese.
Pledging continued investment in home ownership, agriculture, health, education and other key sectors, the Head of State stressed that economic stability is not a luxury but a right for all Guyanese.
His address was welcomed by a massive gathering of supporters at the Kitty Market Square, Georgetown, coating the streets in the party’s signature fiery red paraphernalia.
“We don’t promise to build castles in the sky. We build schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, homes, and hope. We don’t say things to win elections. We say things we mean. We do what we say and the last five years we have proven that we are the party that delivers, the party that performs,” the President said.
He noted that while Guyana is rising ‘better and stronger’ every day, the true enduring force behind the country’s development is the people.
“Your faithfulness, your trust, your conviction, your openness and your love, that is what keeps us going every day. … You are the best part of us,” Dr. Ali said acknowledging thousands of supporters.
Pledging continued investment in home ownership, agriculture, health, education and other key sectors, he emphasised the government’s plans to widen income streams for families through co-investments, innovative financial vehicles, and support for small businesses under the banner “Forward Together for a Better Guyana”.
These initiatives will build on the momentum of the party’s track record over the past five years which has seen the country being recognised as the fastest growing economy in the world and proudly boasting about its food security capabilities alongside an array of social policies such as housing development, free education from the nursery to tertiary levels and support for the elderly.
With these policies, President Ali noted that his party has been ‘converting real dreams’ into realities.
“The records show it. More than 50,000 house lots, 50,000 dreams turning into homes, into futures, into families on solid ground. World-class hotels we’re building, and people are investing in world-class hotels. People don’t invest in a sinking ship. People invest in a rising tide. People do not take risks with their money if they don’t see a future, if they don’t think profitability, if they don’t see success. And the world, the world is converging on Guyana today.”
As the party looks to confront the future, Dr. Ali noted all citizens can look forward to even greater initiatives.
To this end, he reminded that the PPP/C remains a party that blurs the lines of division and racism.
“When I watch across this crowd, I don’t see Afro-Guyanese, I don’t say Indo-Guyanese, I don’t see Amerindian, I don’t see Portuguese, I see Guyana, the one Guyana we are building. This was the aspirations of those that toil before us.”
CO-INVESTMENTS, WEALTH CREATION, INFRASTRUCTURE
Dr. Ali further emphasised the government’s plans to widen income streams for families through co-investments, innovative financial vehicles, and support for small businesses.
“When we build, we don’t just build, we build smarter and faster,” he emphasised adding:
“The strategy is to create your wealth at your personal and family level, at your community level, but to also reduce the tax burden, to also ensure that our policies are crafted to give you more disposable income in your pocket.”
He noted that there will be continued investments enhancing security, ensuring that every Guyanese, especially women are safe and protected.
Farmers and miners too can look forward to enhanced benefits as the government’s plans are not simply just about money, but creating and crafting policies that will bolster development and personal growth outside of salary increases and monetary support.
“You can expect that we are going to do more for you as we confront the future. Our greatest chapter is still ahead of us. The choice that keeps Guyana moving forward, lifting every family, strengthening every community, and unlocking the full promise of our future,” he added.
YOUR VOTE IS YOUR DIGNITY
Just before concluding his address, President Ali warned citizens to be wary of other political contenders who may attempt to ‘buy’ votes and steer them away from development.
He warned that such attempts are ‘classless’ and disrespects the dignity of citizens. President Ali was candidly addressing the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) and Azruddin Mohamed, who entered the political scene despite being sanctioned by the United States of America for evading taxes and charged locally.
Contrasting his political opponents with the record of the PPP/C, President Ali reminded that his administration has been ‘tested and proven’ and draws a clear line between division, lies, and visionless plans.
