MAYOR Devin Mohan and the councillors of the Anna Regina Town Council have promised to give some attention to the preservation of the historic site at Devonshire Castle.

This assurance was given to residents on Wednesday during a meeting where they openly shared their views on the community’s priorities, challenges, and ideas for positive change.

“We want to see more patrolling in this area. We want to feel safe; let the police come often,” one resident said.

A central topic of discussion was the historic site in Devonshire Castle. Residents and the mayor and councillors agreed to collaborate to preserve and enhance this important landmark.

Mayor Mohan presented the Council’s vision for transformation, emphasising both historical preservation and economic and social growth.

Residents were encouraged to voice their perspectives, ensuring community-driven planning. They also used the opportunity to call for increased patrolling in their community to ensure they are safe.

They also called for several of the drains to be cleaned.

Mayor Mohan, in his response to the concerns, reaffirmed the council’s dedication to a collaborative approach that honours the aspirations of all residents.

He urged residents to ensure that they visit the council regularly and lodge any complaints that may be affecting them in their community.

“We are here to serve you; whatever is bothering you, let us know. We are here to make your life comfortable,” Mayor Mohan said.

Residents were very thankful for the community engagement, since many issues affecting them were ventilated and promptly addressed.
