THE Guyana Cricket Board has congratulated the Guyana Harpy Eagles franchise, following their successful defence of the West Indies 4-Day Championship title.
The Tevin Imlach-led Guyana Harpy Eagles bagged their 7th championship in the last nine years while maintaining their current record as back-to-back winners after last year’s victory.
This also marks the first title without a number of their senior ex-players, including their most successful captain, Leon Johnson.
Recently, top GCB executives, including Anil Beharry, Anthony D’Andrade and President Bissoondyal Singh, Director of Sports Steve Ninvalle, and Minister of Culture Youth and Sports Charles Ramson Jr., welcomed the ‘Eagles’ back home.
GCB President Singh lauded the team for their success while gaining their own identity as a young championship team.
