IN Tuesday evening’s KFC Elite League Season Six double header, Slingerz FC notched a decisive victory against Fruta Conquerors FC, courtesy of goals from Leo Lovell, Darron Niles and Jeremy Garrette.

Den Amstel recorded a win over Santos FC, propelled by a standout performance from lone striker Dwayne Anthony Benn.
In the March 5 opening match, Slingerz FC’s Lovell initiated the evening’s scoring, finding the back of the net in the 45th minute. His teammate Niles doubled the lead with a goal at 45+2, giving the club a commanding advantage heading into halftime.

Despite Fruta Conquerors’ Dwayne Jones attempting a comeback with a goal in the 62nd minute, Slingerz’ Garrett and Niles extended their team’s lead by scoring in the 80th and 86th minutes, respectively, bringing the total to four goals.
While both teams have claimed the title in the past, it was Slingerz FC that showcased dominance on Tuesday night, employing a robust attacking strategy to control the game.

In the second encounter of the evening, Den Amstel’s Benn netted the solitary goal in the 68th minute to give his team a win against Santos FC.
The matches were held at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre (NTC) in Providence, East Bank Demerara.

Completing the roster of teams competing in the league are the reigning champions Guyana Defence Force FC, along with Western Tigers FC, Guyana Police Force FC, Buxton United FC, Ann’s Grove FC and Monedderlust FC.

In the upcoming weeks, the ten top clubs will be locked in intense battles, each eyeing the first-place cash prize of G$2,000,000, and second, third, and fourth positions cash rewards of G$1,200,000, G$800,000, and G$500,000, respectively.
