GT face off with East Coast on Tuesday at DCC

THE Demerara Cricket Board’s (DCB) Inter-Association 50-over U-15 continued with two matches last Friday with East Coast beating West Demerara at Lusignan and Upper Demerara defeating East Bank at Farm.
At the Farm ground on the East Bank of Demerara, the East Bank was bowled out for a paltry 66 in 19.3 overs as only Jason Craig with two fours and a six in 16.

However, Dilshan Latchman who hit a four in 15 and Ravindra Singh with 14 with a couple of boundaries were the only others to reach double figures.
Anek Haimnarine had 4-4, Prosper Jacobus 2-18, and Joshua Bollers 2-0 while Akeem Persaud had 1-16 for the Upper Demerara/Select XI who reached 67-3 from 12.4 overs for a comfortable win.

Jermaine Grovesnor hit four fours in 21 while the son of former Test Batter Travis Dowlin, Makai Dowlin reached the boundary twice in his 14.
Julian Craig (10) also got into double figures for the Upper Dememra select XI a team mainly comprised of players who don’t play their cricket in that area.

At Lusignan, West Demerara batted first and were dismissed for 121 in 30.2 overs before East Coast reached 122-5 in 34.1 overs to win by five wickets.

West Demerara were spearheaded by a brilliant 62 from Parmeshwar Ram 99 balls with eight fours and single-handedly was taking West Demerara to a good score before he was LBW to Nicholas Simon.

Some wayward bowling resulted in 31 extras being registered but no one else reached 15 as Munish Outar and Mickell Sharma took three wickets each.
When the home team began their reply Outar hit four fours in his 36 balls 42 while Sharma made an unbeaten run-a-ball 40 with five boundaries saw their team to a five-wicket win despite Nazir Gulsan taking 3-26.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday when Georgetown face-off with East Coast at DCC.
