INTERNATIONALLY accredited United Airlines has announced that on April 1, 2024, it will start offering non-stop services between Houston and Georgetown, Guyana.
While this plan is still subject to government approval, the major, American Airline, on their website, said: “On April 1, United will be the first airline to offer non-stop service between Houston and Georgetown, Guyana, with four times weekly service on a Boeing 737-MAX 8 aircraft,” adding that this route joins non-stop flights to more than 160 destinations from Houston, including more than 85 destinations no other carriers serve non-stop from the city.

United Airlines, has its headquarters located in Chicago, Illinois’s Willis Tower and all six inhabited continents and numerous American cities are served by United’s extensive domestic and international route network.
This comes at a time when the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) has processed well over 545,000 passengers so far for this year, as the country continues to be an attractive destination for tourists and other categories of visitors.

Increases in air travel to Guyana reflect the transformational work being undertaken by the government under the visionary leadership of President, Dr. Irfaan Ali. The influx of visitors and investors coming to Guyana is attributed to the massive growth in the housing, tourism, transportation and agricultural sectors.
