ENGLAND Test captain Ben Stokes has undergone surgery to address problems with his left knee.The 32-year-old all-rounder was unable to bowl in the summer’s final three Ashes Tests and only featured as a batter at the World Cup in India.

He announced earlier this month he would have surgery following the tournament.
Stokes is aiming to regain fitness in time for England’s five-match Test series in India in January.

He posted a picture on Instagramof himself on crutches outside London’s Cromwell Hospital, with a caption that read: “In and out. Under the [knife emoji] done. Rehab starts now.”
Last week, the all-rounder made himself unavailable for the 2024 Indian Premier League to manage his workload and fitness.
