BUSINESSMAN Andrew Morgan, was, on Wednesday, remanded to prison after he denied possession of a large quantity of cocaine which was reportedly found in his Eccles, East Bank Demerara house, during a raid.

Morgan, who, according to reports, was on CANU’s radar for some time, appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court and pleaded not guilty to possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

The cocaine, which was found on Monday, is said to be valued $3.5 million.

The accused was represented by Senior Counsel Stanley Moore and was remanded to prison until August 4, 2022.

In addition to the drugs, CANU ranks reportedly found 27 9mm rounds, one .32 Taurus firearm along with one magazine and 25 matching .32 rounds in the house. Morgan is expected to face firearm-related charges soon.

According to reports, the accused is the brother of Peter Morgan, who had pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in the United States back in 2010. Peter was released in 2015 after serving his sentence and was later deported to Guyana.
