ENDURANCE racing returns to the South Dakota Circuit today for the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) Dakota 100 event.
The first event of the Mahendra Boodhoo-led administration is a 100 lap endurance race set to begin at noon.
According to officials of the club, all systems are in place for the event, which is expected to be preceded by a time attack segment, set for 09:00 hours.
The track has been washed, cleaned and prepared for today’s event with competitors preparing their cars during the past week.
Meanwhile, in a change of format, the race will go on for 100 laps, with the first driver to complete that being adjudged the winner.
Should there be a failure of any diver to complete the 100 laps, the driver with the most laps after three hours would be allotted the win.
