Trinidadian Ability Campbell won Guyana’s first National Sport Commission (NSC)-sponsored cycle road race in the Cinderella County on Sunday.

The NSC sponsored the event to the tune of $1.3 million dollars.

The race, which commenced with the Director of Sport (DoS), Steve Ninvalle dropping the flag, went from Charity to Supenaam and ended in Anna Regina.

Addressing the presentation, the DoS informed that historic event was the initiative of the Minister of Sport Charles Ramson Jr. and is intended to be an annual event.

The DoS also confirmed that the NSC has issued a record amount of financial assistance to associations so far for the first five months of the year.
