… CWI boss Skerritt set to be guest speaker

THE Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) is preparing to host its annual Brian Ramphal Award ceremony in April 2022, with Cricket West Indies (CWI) president Ricky Skerritt set to be the guest speaker.

The board, as part of its transparency policy would like to invite the cricketing public of Berbice to submit nominees for the awards: Information regarding the nominees must be done before March 20 and must be dropped off to the secretary at the board’s office, located in Charlotte Street, New Amsterdam.

This year’s categories feature a few usual, popular awards such as; Female Cricketer-of-the-Year, Male Cricketer-of-the-Year, Male Disciplined Player-of-the-Year 2021, Female Disciplined Player-of-the-Year 2021, Most Improved Junior Player Male 2021, Most Improved Junior Player Female 2021, Umpire-of-the-Year 2021 and Most Improved Club-of-the-Year with nominees -West Berbice, New Amsterdam/Canje, Lower Corentyne and Upper Corentyne.

Also any club official, who has worked beyond the call of duty to make a positive difference in cricket areas, will also be considered and should be recommended to be honoured under our Tribute to Club Officials programme.

This person should have served for close to ten years, is dedicated and has assisted in the development of the game. A maximum of ten persons would be honoured as we strive to make sure that every hero/heroine is recognised and honoured.
