CHIEF Magistrate, Ann McLennan, on Thursday, remanded a Venezuelan woman to prison, after she was charged with unlawfully killing a miner at Sandhill Backdam, Kaikan, Region 7 (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
Yesica Rondon Mayo, the accused Spanish-speaking woman, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court with the aid of a translator to answer to the charge.
The court heard that, on Saturday last, the accused and the now-deceased man, Beauford Watson called ‘Marlon’, were involved in an argument which ended in her wielding a knife against him.
Rondon Mayo was not required to plead
The accused will return to court on March 14. The next appearance, however, will be at the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court.
