STATE prosecutor Lisa Cave on Monday closed her case as the trial of murder accused Travis Archer, called ‘Spin and Kill,’ continued before Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall and a 12-member jury at the Demerara High Court.
This was done after the final witness, government pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh, had testified. The matter was then adjourned until Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
Archer, who is being represented by attorney-at-law Latchmie Rahamat, pleaded not guilty to the indictment, which read that on November 3 or 4, 2017, at ‘Black-and-White Bridge’, in ‘C’ Field, Sophia, East Coast Demerara, he murdered Jamal Munroe.
According to reports, Munroe, 24, reportedly died while receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) for injuries consistent with the gunshot wounds he sustained during an argument with Archer over a 32-year-old female shopkeeper of ‘D’ Field, Sophia.
