ON December 25, 2021, the Guyana Chronicle carried a news article from the Department of Public Information (DPI) headlined, “Each business can earn US$5M annually – with passing of Local Content Bill, says VP Dr Jagdeo.”
Subsequent to the publication, this newspaper was informed that the Vice-President was misquoted.
What the Vice-President said was that passage of the Local Content Bill could see Guyanese-owned businesses earning as much as US$500M annually.
