– local business determined to aid in combating COVID-19

IN the fight to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus, extensive research has been done to help persons infected with the virus.

Azul Distribution Incorporated is one such Guyanese company that is aiding in the fight to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and possible deaths among Guyanese.

The Pepperpot Magazine sat down with the three top executives of the distribution company to get their perspective on the benefits both business-wise and from a medical and hygienic perspective.

Marketing Manager Joel Cole spoke about one of their sanitisation products being distributed by the company.

“Essentially, it is called ‘Eviter Surface Santitiser.’ It is the best surface santitiser in the world. It protects surfaces from all viruses and bacteria. From the coronavirus to Ebola, it protects you for 72 hours from one application.

It is based on a technology called Nbelayx, and it was developed by a scientist named Gabriella Leon. This innovation was nominated by the World Economic Forum for the pioneering award,” Cole told the Pepperpot Magazine.

He assured this writer that when the products arrive in Guyana, the spread of the novel coronavirus can be significantly reduced with application of the products, particularly the sanitisers.

According to Cole, when the sanitiser is applied to surfaces of government business places and public places, inclusive of the municipal markets in the city, that surface is completely rid of all bacteria and viruses.
Cole added that the company will provide more than just hand sanitisers.

“We are going to be distributing a line of Evite products, but we are starting with the surface sanitiser. There is also the hand soap where you wash your hands with this hand soap which contains the same nanoparticulate compound (Nbelayx) and your hands are protected for 12 hours. This is also a cream and protection is granted for the same 12 hours,” Cole told the Pepperpot Magazine.

Meanwhile, Dr Raveendranauth Raghuram spoke specifically about the impact that the Eviter products have on individuals.

“This molecule is invented by the Scientist [Gabriella Leon]. She has invented this molecule and for her invention, she has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. When you use this nanoparticulate compound, it impacts the virus directly. In comparison with other products, inclusive of alcohol and chemical based sanitisers, Eviter products do not cause any toxicity. It kills the specific pathogens and it has been proven to be safe to the environment,” Dr Raghuram told the Pepperpot Magazine.

Meanwhile Riyad Sankar, Director of the enterprise, told the Pepperpot Magazine that the business community has been quite responsive and receptive to the new product.

He assured of its safety and Food& Drug Administration of the U.S. (FDA) approval, which speaks to its efficacy and efficiency.

“We are confident that it will be known, it is just to get it out there, make sure that it is understood,” Sankar told the Pepperpot Magazine.
