AN EVEN century by former national U-19 cricketer Trevor Henry spurred the Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club to a mammoth 206-run victory against New York Centurions CC, when action in the New York National Cricket League (NYNCL) Caribbean Fest 40-over tournament continued on Sunday in NY.
The US-based Guyanese side Liberty, who are the only unbeaten team left in the competition, won the toss and batted first at Baisley Ground.
Skipper Henry, who came in at three, added 67 runs for the second wicket with Naresh Rambharos who scored 52 (3×4, 6×4) from 55 balls. For the fourth wicket, Henry teamed up with

Raymond Ramrattan spun his way to 5-37.

Liberty’s reigning best bowler and Academic Excellence Award recipient, Altaaf Habibulla, to tally a match-high 102 runs. The two batsmen were aggressive in their stroke plays and running between the wickets.

Habibulla scored 52 runs off of 36 balls before he was run-out. His innings was punctuated with four fours and two sixes.
Henry was able to push the score close to the three-digit mark before he fell lbw to Carlos Baker. His 100 included nine sixes and four fours from 75 balls.
Towards the end, Baker took control of the game with his medium pace, but the damage was already done as Liberty ended their allotted overs on 308-9.
Baker finished with 5-49 from eight overs. In reply, none of the New York Centurions batsmen had answers for Liberty’s bowling attack.
Leg-spinner Raymond Ramrattan hurt the middle order to finish with 5-37, while medium-pacer Habibulla and off-spinner Andrew Tomby took two wickets each to restrict their opponents for 102 in 21.5 overs.
