Man accused of cocaine trafficking granted $60,000 bail

A man who was allegedly caught with a small quantity of cocaine, appeared, last Friday, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was granted $60,000 bail by Magistrate Leron Daly.

Darrel Scott denied that he, on Wednesday, June 23, at Hadfield and Leopold Streets, Georgetown, had in his possession 7 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

According to the prosecution, on the day in question, at about 10:00 hours, police ranks who were on mobile patrol observed several men seated under a tree.

The men were approached and searched.

Ranks later noticed a transparent plastic bottle on the ground close to where Scott was sitting. The police opened it and discovered a quantity of cocaine inside.

Scott was told of the offence and arrested.

He will make his next court appearance on August 20, 2021.
