FORMER National U-19 cricketer Chris Patandin’s dominance with the bat has propelled him to the top of the players’ rankings of the New York National Cricket League (NYNCL) Caribbean Fest 40-over tournament.

OUTSTANDING PATANDIN
In his latest clash, 32-year-old Patandin led Majestic CC to a 54-run victory. At Baisley Pond on Sunday, the eventual winners won the toss and opted to bat first. Led by a brutal unbeaten 135 from Patandin, which included seven fours and nine sixes off 100 balls, Majestic CC were able to push their total to 270-6 in a reduced 35-over clash against Melbourne NY Alliance.
University of Guyana cricketer Damian Vantull, who travelled up for the competition, also batted well for 40 runs (1×4, 5×6) from 18 balls.
In reply, Melbourne had a solid start with the first three batsmen leading the attack. By the 24th over, they were comfortably placed at 3-156 with Richie Balkarran hitting 54 (7×4, 3×6) and skipper Ryan Girdhary scoring an innings-high 64 (7×4, 1×6, but Narine and Patandin got into the attack, Girdhary was bowled and caught by Narine, while middle-order batsman Parasram Beepat (28) lost his wicket via the same route off the bowling of Patandin.
In the end, the side fell short at 216-9. Skipper Narine finished with 2-32 from five overs and Patandin 2-34 from seven overs.
