E-NETWORKS INC., Guyana’s only local Internet and TV services provider, has expressed appreciation to the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) for naming the company as its 2020 “Large Business of the Year”.

The GCCI, at its 131st annual awards programme, held on January 28, 2021, honoured organisations and individuals who have achieved a standard of excellence in the business community through their abilities, efforts, and initiatives.

GCCI’s recognition of E-Networks closed off a notable year for the company, which celebrated several milestones, such as landing its own, and Guyana’s first indigenous, international fiber-optic cable, Xlink, and introducing Guyana’s first 5G network.

This network was launched within a few months of the cable’s landing, at the start of the pandemic, and enabled the company to expand access to improved and more affordable Internet services.
E-Networks also dramatically raised the bar for business users, providing 20 times the speed of the other services in the market. That enhanced business productivity through newfound access to cloud-based and other bandwidth intensive applications that were previously not feasible due to poor business Internet options.

“We are honoured that GCCI selected E-Networks for this top award. We would especially like to thank the Executive Management Committee, headed by President, Nicholas Boyer; Senior VP, Timothy Tucker; Junior VP, Anjie Lambert; and Executives, Kester Hutson and Shaleeza Shaw. The GCCI’s commitment to the development of local content in Guyana’s post-oil discovery era aligns with our company’s pursuit of changing Guyana’s ICT landscape through innovation and local skills enhancement. We similarly believe, as a 100 per cent Guyanese-owned, managed, and staffed company, that Guyana’s development is rooted in the progression of its technologies, capacities, and workforce,” E-Networks Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Vishok Persaud said.

E-Networks further expressed its pledge to the advancement of Guyana’s ICT sector through the continued deployments of cutting-edge technologies to the benefit of its Guyanese customers and employees.
