SEVEN persons were on Friday robbed of cash and other valuables by two armed bandits around 22:00hrs at the “Anytime Guinness Bar,” La Union, West Coast Demerara (WCD).

Reports indicate that the victims were at the bar imbibing when the two suspects, one armed with a gun and the other with a cutlass, walked in and held the group at gunpoint.

The suspect with the firearm stood guard while his accomplice relieved the victims of their belongings. The gunman then discharged a round in the air before the duo ran into the Crane Old Road and escaped.

The matter was subsequently reported to the police, who retrieved a suspected spent shell at the scene as investigations continue.
