ARMED bandits robbed two women at the “Wild Caught Fresh” Fish Depot at Meadow Bank Wharf, Georgetown on Monday.
The incident occurred at around 17:00hrs and the victims were identified as Renita Joseph, 43, of Onderneeming, West Bank Demerara (WBD) and Ariel Mangar, 19, of Prospect, East Bank Demerara (EBD). Police said the women were robbed by two unidentifiably men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The two bandits stole a large quantity of cash as well as other valuables including cellphones and jewellery from the women before they escaped on a Honda XR motorcycle. Police are currently hunting for the bandits as investigations continue.
