Electrician working taxi carjacked in Sophia

A MAN and a woman are wanted by police for reportedly stealing a new model silver Toyota Allion motorcar PXX 4871 from a 43-year-old electrician on Monday at ‘D’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown. The electrician, who was working taxi with his car, was identified as Corwin Griffith. Reports indicated that Griffith was working private hire taxi and was in the vicinity of America Street, Georgetown, when he was stopped by a medium built man dressed in a grey jersey and black short pants and a medium built with plait hair woman dressed in black outfit known as a “Rampa”. The duo requested the taxi driver to drop them off at ‘D’ Field Sophia. The driver accepted the request and the suspects boarded the vehicle after they placed two black garbage bags of suspected clothing into the trunk of the car. Police said on arrival to the last street, ‘D’ Field Sophia access road, the taxi driver exited his car and proceeded to his trunk to remove the bags. However, while removing the bags, the male passenger jumped into the driver seat with the woman in the vehicle and made their escape in the car. Police investigations are ongoing.
