VARUN Dhawan stirred the Indian and international press recently when he decided to wed Natasha Dalal, an Indian fashion designer specialised in wedding couture.
Varun, reportedly the only actor in the history of Indian cinema to feature in eleven box-office successes in a row from the inception of his career, married Dalal at the Mansion House resort in Alibaug, a coastal town just south of Mumbai, in western India.
Sharing the news of his marriage and photos of his big day on Instagram, he said: “Lifelong love just became official.” He and Dalal met while in school and had been close friends for many years before deciding to be married.

“The first time I met Natasha is in the sixth standard. We were friends till like tenth, eleventh, twelfth grade. We were very close friends, but the minute I saw her…I remember her walking and seeing her and actually I…when I saw her, I felt like I fell in love with her that day,” Varun told Kareen Kapoor-Khan.
Speaking on Kapoor-Khan’s popular chat show, “What Women Want,” Varun said that even though Dalal rejected him about three or four times, he never gave up hope.
Asked what it is that she has managed to get out of this relationship, he expressed: “I really got honesty in my relationship with my partner and that’s something which I have to kind of learn from and understand the value of that as I went about in my relationship. That’s exactly what women want – honesty, but you have to be careful when you hit them with that honesty.”
Varun said he especially appreciated having someone around whom he can depend on during his dark days. “Definitely when you fail in life which every human being will, having that one person by you who you can lean on is the most important thing in the world.”
According to an article published in Hindustan Times, due to the Covid-19 protocols, Varun and Natasha’s wedding was a close-knit affair, with only 40-50 guests in attendance. Karan Johar, who launched him in Bollywood, was among the few from the film fraternity on the guest list.
Expressing his feelings about women in general, he said: “I love women, I love being around them, I love talking to them. I have a lot of masti in me…but I love women because I just feel that they have a far better insight on things than men; the way they understand things.”
Meanwhile, Dhawan started his acting career in 2012 with Karan Johar’s teen drama Student of the Year and progressed with roles in Main Tera Hero, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
He also did action comedies like Dilwale in 2015 with Bollywood’s most-loved on-screen couple, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. He continued to star in Dishoom, Judwaa 2, ABCD 2, and Sui Dhaaga. Varun also was positively received for Badlapur, and October in 2018.
Born on April 24, 1987, Varun’s parents are film director David Dhawan and Karuna Dhawan.
