Man found dead on Bachelor’s Adventure road after visiting ‘child mother’

A MASON who visited the mother of his child on Sunday evening at Paradise Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was found dead on the roadway on Monday at Bachelor’s Adventure, ECD.
Dead is Keith Andrew Willis, 23, called “Ghandi”, a mason of lot 374 Bachelor’s Adventure, ECD.

Reports indicate that Willis lives with his mother and other siblings and at about 16:30 hours, he left home to attend a football competition which was held aback of Bachelor’s Adventure, ECD and concluded at 20:30 hours.
On conclusion of the game, Willis went to visit the mother of his daughter in 22nd Street Paradise Housing Scheme, ECD and he left about 23:00hrs to head home.

On Monday, at about 05:30 hours, a resident of the area, who was heading to work, observed Willis lying on the roadway and he summoned the police.
When police arrived at the scene, Willis was seen lying motionless on the eastern side of Bachelor’s Adventure Access Road, ECD clad in a black three quarters pants and white top in an east to west position surrounded by blood.

Police examined the body and found a single stab wound to the upper left side neck. The body was escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival as investigations continue.
The dead man’s mother, Seema Sukar, said she last saw her son alive on Sunday when he left home “to go by his child mother, one child he has, it’s a daughter.”

“He sleep at home every night as normal, but he didn’t come home last night (Sunday) and he doesn’t have a cell phone, I does wake up early in the morning to cook for the little one to go to work and then I saw three men come at the house and ask me to out on a slippers and they ask me if my son was home,” the mother of four said.
She explained that her younger son instead visited the scene because she was unwell and returned with the dreadful news.

In tears, she related that Willis was the one who would look after her needs at home since he was not currently employed but would make himself useful.

His brother, Yannick Willis, said his brother was a jovial person “and he died leaving a two year-old daughter and he was not a bad guy people around the village can tell you that.”

He continued: “My brother would assist everybody in whatever work he can do, and he doesn’t have problems with anyone, right now, I am lost for words and can’t explain what is going on, he had more than one stab wounds on his body.”
