– Natural Resources Minister to set up Patron’s Fund to assist Berbice Clubs

MINISTER of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, on Tuesday agreed to become the Honorary Patron of the Berbice Cricket Board, the Hilbert Forster-led entity announced.

Foster, along with other executives and members Albert Smith, Robby Saywack, Angela Haniff, Dr Cecil Beharry and Simon Naidu had met with Minister Bharrat when the agreement was brokered.

According to BCB, Minister Bharrat will also set up a ‘Patron Fund’ which he said will be used to assist the less fortunate clubs and cricketers in Berbice.

The minister, BCB noted, would also assist BCB in bringing its proposed 2021 semi-professional cricket league to fruition.
