– Specialists to return this year

THE Guyana Government has recently awarded post-graduate scholarships to a number of doctors who are currently studying in Cuba.

Dr. Alex Allan Persaud will be undertaking advanced medical studies in Neurology while Dr. Kalesh Latchminarine will be specialising in Paediatrics.

Dr. Asif Iqbal Subhan is pursuing post-graduate work in Neurosurgery and Dr. Suruj Harrichand is specializing in Cardiology.

By the end of this year, the following specialists will be returning to Guyana: Dr. Allan Outridge – Cardiology; Dr. Anand Persaud – Epidemiology; Dr. Baressa DeClou – Psychiatry; Dr. Kelicia Niles – Cardiology; Dr. Eko Wilson – Cardiology; and Dr. Dedon Johashen – Paediatrics.

Guyana and Cuba established diplomatic relations on December 8, 1972.
