A 21-year-old machine operator of Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was arrested on Sunday after he was found in possession of a .38 revolver and six live matching rounds on the Coldingen Public Road, ECD.

Police ranks during a mobile patrol on the said public road about 20:30hrs observed the suspect standing on the roadway and acting in a suspicious manner.

As a result the police approached him and carried out a search on his person, during which the firearm and ammunition were found concealed in his right-side waist of his pants.

The suspect is being processed for court.
