Cyclist killed on Liliendaal Railway Embankment

A 62-year-old pedalcyclist lost his life Saturday after he was struck down Friday night along the Liliendaal Railway Embankment, Greater Georgetown.
Dead is Frederick Blue, called “Feds” of Lot, 30, Second Street, Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.

Reports indicate that the pedalcyclist was proceeding either east or west along the southern side of the road when he was struck down by an unknown motor vehicle, which was proceeding west along the said side of the road. The motor vehicle drove away after hitting him.
As a result of the collision, police said the pedalcyclist fell onto the southern parapet of the road and received injuries to the head and body.
He was picked up in an unconscious condition, bleeding from the head, placed in an ambulance and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation

(GPHC), where he was admitted in a critical state.
Fredericks subsequently died at around 03:25 hrs on Saturday.
The body is currently at the GPHC Mortuary awaiting autopsy as investigations continue.
