(TRINIDAD EXPRESS) Unlike previous years, the scene at Baliser house, Corner Victoria Avenue & Tranquility Street is a quiet one tonight, as People’s National Movement (PNM) Public Relations Officer (PRO), Laurel Lezama-Lee told the media that supporters are not encouraged to gather at the PNM’s headquarters amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

UNC supporters following the vote count

But at the Couva South constituency office of incumbent MP Rudy Indarsingh, more than 100 had gathered as the party’s executive followed the vote count, and announced it on big screen televisions set up around an auditorium.
PNM senator, Nigel De Freitas said, “No mass gatherings. We do not want that. Given the restrictions that are in place. This is only the command center where the media will be fed the results and that’s it.”

Instead, PNM has set up three trucks as temporary media mobile centres complete with a stage, seating and air condition, where we are told, Dr.Keith Rowley will address the media after the results.
