THREE men are in police custody at the Suddie Police Station in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), assisting with investigations after they were positively identified during a burglary.
It is alleged that the three men, who were armed with a shotgun, came out of a clump of bushes and demanded valuables and cash from 54-year-old Kumar Sukhanadan of Johanna Cecelia.
According to information reaching this newspaper, Sukhanadan was robbed of a 25dwt bracelet valued $140,000 and G$10,000 in cash.
He alleged that the men approached him while he was riding home from a wake house. He said they demanded cash and jewelry and made good their escape. The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday July 2 around 22:00 hours at Maria’s Lodge.
He stated that he could have identified the three men. He then made a report to the Suddie Police Station where police arrested the men. They remain in custody.
