A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl of Charity, Squatting Area, Essequibo, allegedly drowned in a bucket of water on Friday morning.

Dead is Sitana Alexander of Charity. The incident reportedly occurred around 10:53 hours. According to reports, the mother of the child, Vanessa Alexander, left the toddler in the house and went to wash her clothes. When she returned she did not see her daughter. During a search she discovered her child’s lifeless body in a four-gallon bucket with water.

The child’s body was removed from the bucket of water and taken to the Charity Hospital where a doctor pronounced her dead. The body was then taken to the Suddie Public Hospital awaiting a post mortem examination. Investigations into the alleged drowning continue.
