Suspect in West Ruimveldt murder still at large

THE police are still on the hunt for 18-year-old Timothy Evans, who is wanted for the murder of his West Ruimveldt, Georgetown neighbour.

On May 1, 2020, Florence Forte, 56, was shot in her left eye by Evens during a shootout.

The Guyana Chronicle had reported that on the day in question around 01:30hrs, Forte was in her West Ruimveldt home when she heard a commotion between her two neighbours,Brian Wiltshire and Timothy Evans.Wiltshire also sustained a gunshot wound during the melee.

Wiltshire had reportedly witnessed Evans stealing a motorcycle from his friend. Consequently, he then took his friend to Evans’s home in order to recover the motorcycle.
According to reports, Evans came out of his house armed with a firearm and began shooting at Wiltshire and others. Wiltshire was shot to the right side of his chest.

Forte, who lived opposite Evans, exited her house to see what the commotion was about and was shot to her left eye. Forte and Wiltshire were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where Forte succumbed to her injury.
The police are still on the hunt for Evans, for whom a wanted bulletin has been issued.
