A 38-year-old mother of three lost her life due to severe injuries she received from a vehicular accident at Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo, on April 28, 2020.

Dead is Lovern Benn of Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, and also of Isseneru Village, Middle Mazaruni, Region Seven.

According to reports, Benn was a passenger in a motor car which was involved in an accident with a minibus. The motor car which belonged to Benn was driven by a male friend.

According to reports, on April 28, about 22:30 hrs, the minibus was stationary along the southern carriageway on Vergenoegen Public Road.

However, as the motor car approached, the minibus driver entered into the same lane, thus resulting in a collision.

Benn received severe injuries to the head and leg. She was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where she succumbed on April 29.

The Guyana Chronicle was made to understand that Benn was last seen alive by her children, on April 28 around 15:00 hours, when she told them that she was going out to collect money from somebody and would be back before the curfew.

However, hours later, two men showed up at the family gate and informed the children that their mother had died.

The police are still investigating the matter.
