– CIOG says fasting begins on Saturday

THE Central Islamic Organization of Guyana (CIOG) has reported that the Crescent for the holy month of Ramadan has not been sighted and, therefore, fasting will begin on Saturday, April 25.

The CIOG, in a release, said Taraweeh prayers will commence on the evening of April 24, 2020.

“Oh Allah, safeguard us for Ramadan and safeguard Ramadan for us and accept it from us. Oh Allah, heal the world and grant us the opportunity to observe Ramadan,” the release concluded.
