Charity Hospital gets mortuary

RESIDENTS in the Charity catchment communities which include the Pomeroon River and the Moruca sub district, Region Two, will now have full access to mortuary services within their reach.

On Friday, Regional Executive Officer, Denis Jaikaran, along with the Administration’s Regional Engineering team test-run a six door mortuary freezer at the Oscar Joseph District Hospital in Charity.

During the test run, Jaikarran said residents living in the Pomeroon were in need of the service, and as such, the regional administration immediately acted on their residents’ request. The mortuary will be fully functional as of Monday, March 16.

Regional Health Officer, Dr. Afarah Khan said the mortuary would be an asset for the health services in Charity. Previously, families had to travel to access similar service at Suddie which was expensive.
