POLICE are awaiting an autopsy after a 59-year-old man of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, collapsed and died on Sunday night at Haley Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown.

Dead is Cyril Harold of Lot 2414 Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo.

Reports indicate that the man was found lying on Haley Street at about 20:55hrs.

Harold was rushed to a medical emergency tent at Durban Park, which was in close proximity, but was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on site.
When contacted, the police said robbery was ruled out as a motive due to the fact that the man’s valuables, including his wallet, jewellery and cell-phone, were found in his possession.

Noting that there was no psychical injury, police said that there was blood in the man’s mouth that appeared to be as a result of an internal issue. As such, they are waiting for an autopsy to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
