GBTI hosts jubilee anniversary social media contest

THE Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) has undertaken a social media contest that encourages participants to share reasons why they love Guyana, in observance of Guyana’s Golden Jubilee Republic Anniversary.

“Our 50th anniversary is a big thing for us as Guyanese and we wanted to have a fun way of celebrating, and what other way to do that than with social media,” the bank noted in a press statement.

The bank recently partnered with the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana and Impressions for the installation of the ‘I Love Guyana Sign’ at the new tourism park in Kingston, Georgetown, which has become the new buzz area.

“To demonstrate our patriotic pride and connection and encourage others to do the same, we decided to have the contest centred on I love Guyana,” GBTI stated.

Participants are simply required to upload to their Instagram and or Facebook accounts a photo of themselves taken in front of the sign with the hashtags ##GBTI #iloveguyana
Ten photos with the most likes or shares will each receive USD$50.

Apart from this contest, the bank continues its longstanding support to the Ministry of Education, Allied Arts Department, in the hosting of the Children’s Dramatic Poetry Competition.
