– says Change Guyana Presidential Candidate

TARGETING the youths of Guyana is one of the main aims of political parties contesting the March 02 elections; since persons between the ages 18 and 35 made up almost half of the eligible voter population, hence the leaders of Change Guyana hosted its first youth symposium, where members of the general public were given the opportunity to voice their concerns on the issues affecting the youths of today.
Addressing the gathering of young enthusiasts at the Umana Yana, Change Guyana’s presidential candidate, Robert Badal, vowed to put a high premium on vocational training and to address all social issues by stimulating economic development.
He stated that Guyana is blessed with many skilled young persons; however, many of these persons tend to migrate to foreign countries because of the lack of opportunities in Guyana.
“We will put a high premium on vocational training …we will put a premium in ensuring we expand, support and fund science, engineering, mathematics, all the sciences, technology…to develop this country we will need a lot of skills, we will need welding, plumbing, electrical, robotics and engineering,” he stated.
He added that he will implement a system whereby students will have an internship for six months to a year before they graduate, to ensure that they can comprehend the ethics in the work environment, so that students will be prepared for the world of work.
Additionally, Mr. Badal stated that politics was never his cup of tea, however because of the political thuggery and undermining of the youths by the two dinosaur political parties, he decided to join the political race to be a voice for the people, especially the youths, since they are the future leaders of tomorrow.

Badal further stated that he will always be a man for the people and will never accept bullying or any form of bribery from the political giants who dominate Guyana.
“I will not be a ‘yes’ person; I will never take bribe… I will always be guided with what is the interest of the people. Politics was not my cup of tea, but when I look at my neighbours, communities around and youths and I see the ills of society, the social problems that are a result of an economic problem, I ask ‘why’?
Our press conference today stated clearly that since independence, Guyanese have achieved very little from the resources that we have,” he stated.
He further pointed out that all of Guyana’s resources belong to a foreign country, which can lead the country into bankruptcy; hence all developmental projects under a Change Guyana government will make Guyana a priority.
He noted that Change Guyana will provide the necessary institutions to train the nation’s youth to further establish and develop Guyana like the independent country it ought to be.
“We will make priority to Guyanese if they don’t have the necessary skills, we will train them,” Badal stated.
The newly-formed Change Guyana (CG) political party is one of the eight political parties contesting the March 02, General and Regional elections.
