THREE more witnesses are still to give evidence against 25-year-old University of Guyana (UG) student, Sheneza Jafferally, called ‘Diane’, for allegedly issuing bomb threats to the university.

Jafferally of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, denied the charge, when it was read to her, when she made her first appearance in court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

Particulars of the charge alleged that, on February 5, 2019, at Cummings Lodge, Jafferally sent – by means of a public telecommunication device system, for the purpose of causing needless anxiety to the staff and students of the UG – a message which she knew to be false

Jafferally is currently on trial before Magistrate Rushell Liverpool, at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
She was released on $10,000 High Court bail after she was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on the ground of public safety.

Jafferally is still being represented by attorney-at-law Latchmi Rahamat.
According to information, based on the investigation, a telephone number belonging to Jafferally was linked to the number from which the bomb threats to the university were allegedly made.

Jafferally, on the day in question, it is alleged, made several calls to the tertiary institution, making bomb threats and causing classes to be called off.
