THE partially decomposed body of a 31-year-old miner of Achiwuib, South Rupununi, was discovered in a shallow grave at Rice Creek, South Rupununi, on Sunday.

Police, in a statement on Friday, said Marcellus Reynolds, called “Ton”, was reportedly murdered by a 17-year-old male, on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Marudi Backdam, South Rupununi.

The 17-year-old was arrested and is in police custody.
Police said the body had since been exhumed and arrangements were being made for an autopsy to be done earliest.
