MINISTER within the Ministry of Communities with responsibility for Housing, Annette Ferguson, is to make representation on behalf of the victims of the recent fire at Bent Street, Wortmanville, at a meeting of her Board, scheduled for Monday.

The minister gave the commitment on Sunday, when, accompanied by a team, she made an impromptu stop at the site for a first-hand assessment and to empathise with the

victims. The minister was returning from an out-of-town assignment.

The early morning inferno on Friday last, has left some 11 persons, several children included, with nothing but the clothes they were wearing at the time of the incident.
The houses in which the majority of the affected families lived were being rented, hence the immediate need of the victims would be to have a roof over their heads, beds, mattresses, clothing and foodstuff.

As is the norm during such situations, the affected families would also receive assistance from Food for the Poor and the National Relief Council, among others.
Minister Ferguson was accompanied by councillors with responsibility for Constituency Eight, Dr. Dawn Stewart-Lyken and Gregory Fraser.
