THE Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) and staff continue to show their support for cancer awareness with a donation of close to $400,000 to the Guyana Cancer Foundation and the Periwinkle Club.
This activity, which is now an annual feature of the bank, signifies the institution’s empathy, care and concern for awareness and support for patients and families affected by cancer, GBTI said in a release. “It is also our way of saying to these voluntary organisations, thank you for all that you do in offering care and support and a space for patients and family members to share their feelings and stories, and know that others can relate to them and understand what they are going through,” GBTI said.
The bank said, “Just as we celebrate the successes of our customers, we understand their challenges and needs, and we represent their cause to the fullest. We believe our collective efforts will make a difference to those in need.”
