A HOMELESS man was, on Wednesday October 2, 2019, arraigned before Magistrate Faith McGusty.
38-year-old Michael Whyte appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that, on September 27, 2019, at Robb Street Georgetown, he robbed Compton Caesar of $28,000 cash and his pension book.

The virtual complainant then fell out of his wheelchair and the defendant went into his pocket and relieved him of his cash and pension book. An alarm was raised and the defendant was arrested and taken to the Brickdam Police Station where he was charged.
Whyte, however, told the court that he lost control of the said Pitbull which ran and jumped on Caesar causing him to fall to the grown.
He added that he went to assist the man and saw the money scattered on the ground and decided to take it, but, when he saw officers approaching, he panicked and ran away.
Magistrate McGusty, after listening to the statements presented by the Police Prosecutor and Whyte, sentenced the man (Whyte) to three years’ imprisonment.
