Attempted murder accused granted bail

CHIEF Magistrate Ann McLennan on Monday, September 23, 2019, released a 24-year-old Gordon Street, Kitty resident on $120,000 bail for the charge of attempted murder.
Quincy Evans appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to plead to the charge.

Particulars of the charge alleged that, on August 28, 2019, at Gordon Street, Kitty, Evans wounded Joshua Williams with the intent to commit murder.
According to Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield, on the day in question, the two men had a misunderstanding.

It is alleged that, Evans armed himself with a sharp instrument and chopped Williams to his chest and shoulder. Williams was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and was discharged three days later.

The Prosecutor made no objection to Evans being released on bail, which was granted at $120,000 by the Chief Magistrate. The matter was adjourned until October 14, 2019.
